OC LGBTQ+ BILL OF RIGHTS

Core Components

MOTIVATION
Recent data from the California Healthy Kids Survey* revealed that schools are failing to support dignity and educational access for over 15,000 LGBTQ+ students in Orange County.
Anti-LGBTQ groups target our districts to prevent the implementation of inclusive and affirming school policies and curriculum mandated by California law and many of our schools remain unsafe places for LGBTQ+ students, undermining their ability to learn and achieve. These conditions can lead, and have led, to adverse psychological and physical health outcomes, life-threatening violence and suicide.

RESOLUTION
Youth First Orange County (YFOC) advocates for safe, inclusive, and discrimination-free schools for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) students.
